This is a really nice piece! I love the action, the free flow and the feeling of movement throughout. The eye doesn't tire of moving around in the scene. How beautiful.

Michael Your work in pastel is among my favorite! What kind of paper do you use? Do you use an underpainting?
Michael Camp replied:
Thanks, Dan. I use different papers, but always a toned (colored) paper for pastel. This piece was done on gray Art Spectrum Colourfix board, which is an excellent support for soft pastel. I generally don't use an underpainting, but will sometimes use alcohol and a brush to get coverage on the first layer of a pastel painting. Thanks for your interest!
