Marshland Mood is a pastel painting that I received a lot of positive comment on, and also won a "Best of Show" award. It depicts the play of sunlight on water and grasses in the evening, shortly before sunset. The piece is composed of numerous colors, with warm colors dominating in the foreground, and cooler colors toward the distance areas. I painted it from a composite of photos I had taken around the county, selecting elements from each that I thought would work well together. I feel that it captures the serenity of nature in the still moments before sunset.

E. Michael Camp is an artist who works in the general field of "impressionism." His art draws inspiration from the masters of the field, such as Monet, Degas, and Renoir, who sought to express emotion and the effects of light and atmosphere in their art. Michael has studied painting with noted artist Andrew Sanders, and also studied art at the college level. Most of his paintings depict the varied landscape near his home in northwestern Pennsylvania, although they have a universal appeal to lovers of impressionist art. Michael is a member of the Northwest Pennsylvania Artists Association and the Presque Isle Artists Association.
