A view of the city of Erie, PA from Presque Isle State Park. Purple shadows stretch across the foreground, as a cottonwood tree frames the view of the city across the bay. This piece is rendered in impressionistic strokes of soft pastel on Wallis sanded paper.

About Michael Camp

Michael Camp

E. Michael Camp is an artist who works in the general field of "impressionism." His art draws inspiration from the masters of the field, such as Monet, Degas, and Renoir, who sought to express emotion and the effects of light and atmosphere in their art. Michael has studied painting with noted artist Andrew Sanders, and also studied art at the college level. Most of his paintings depict the varied landscape near his home in northwestern Pennsylvania, although they have a universal appeal to lovers of impressionist art. Michael is a member of the Northwest Pennsylvania Artists Association and the Presque Isle Artists Association. He has exhibited his work in numerous shows, and has sold paintings to many local and international...
