In this oil painting, a couple enjoys the relaxing splash of the waves as they sit at the edge of the water on a warm summer day. Sunny days at the beach are the best time to bask in the sunshine, with the breeze cooling you off and the spray from the surf keeping you from overheating. With this painting, I tried to capture the bright sunlight reflecting off the sandy beach and dancing off the breaking waves.
E. Michael Camp is an artist who works in the general field of "impressionism." His art draws inspiration from the masters of the field, such as Monet, Degas, and Renoir, who sought to express emotion and the effects of light and atmosphere in their art. Michael has studied painting with noted artist Andrew Sanders, and also studied art at the college level. Most of his paintings depict the varied landscape near his home in northwestern Pennsylvania, although they have a universal appeal to lovers of impressionist art.
